Ridge Racer Unbounded Review

User Rating: 3.5 | Ridge Racer Unbounded X360
I must say i'm extremely disappointed with this title. It should be a budget title.

The main reasons why i give this title a 3.5 is due to the controls, when it comes to racing games I take the control of the vehicle very seriously, and Unbounded is one racer that puts shame to the racing genre of the next gen consoles.

In order to smash through walls you must drift around as many corners as you can to fill up your Power bar, once full you can take advantage of smashing through an opponent, completely wrecking them and giving you the place in front, or, you can drive through buildings but it doesn't really offer much of a short cut at all, it's more or less there just to show off blowing something up.

But here is my issue, drifting is terrible, even the slightest of taps of the button can send your car slipping and sliding all over the place, and I found myself wrecking myself often. It could just be due to the starting line up of cars, if that is the case then they really didn't think very well on how to draw someone into their game.

I have a lot of experience with racing games an consider myself to be quite good at them, but maybe it's just me this time, RR:U was very bad for me and after looking forward to this for some time I can't see how I thought this would have been better than Burnout... Namco, leave destruction racing to Criterion.

RR:U is getting a generous 3.5 from me.
