Rhythm Heaven is an awesome game for the DS that I personally think is highly undderated here in America by reviewers. The gameplay is simple, you pick a minigame and you either tap, flick, or slide to the beat. Its so simple but so fun if you love music. There are 50 minigames in all, each with their own theme. Its kind of unfortunate that after you complete the first 30, the next 20 are just the same minigames just harder. Each minigame has its own quirky cartoon feal to it and its own beat. One minigame has you chopping vegetables to the beat while the next may have you following the chords of your partners guitar. The ranking system in this game is "Try Again", "OK",or "Superb". Once you get a superb on a minigame you have the choice of getting a perfect on it. Every so often, you will be given the chance to try to get a perfect on a minigame. This means you catn mess up even once. If you get a perfect, you will be given either a song or something to read at the barista. The "Perfect" system adds replay value to the game, and is something fun to look forward to. In the minigame menu, you have the choice to go to the cafe, play some endless games and Rhythm toys at the token menu, view the credits, play the Battle of the Bands, or just simply play some minigames. In the cafe you can talk to the barista who will give you tips on which game might be a perfect chance. You can listen to some music youve unlocked, or read a magazine. At the token menu, you can unlock different "endless minigames" ,rhythm toys, and songs in guitar lessons by earning tokens. You can earn tokens by getting a superb ranking on a minigame. This game is very unique and I think it should be more apreciated.
