Amazing. A perfect trip down memory lane to where it all began. One of the best Resident Evil games out there
The remake, as it is called, is one of the more successful video game remakes, and it is a shame Hollywood can not get the same formula right for some of their own remakes. The graphics themselves are beautiful, despite the dak and eerie setting of the game, and still look good even now, as we are on the threshold of the next generation of consoles.
The story line is of legend by now. A group of people trapped in a spooky mansion, everything seems failry normal until they encounter for the first time a walking undead zombie, and from that event, sets of a chain reaction of events which is both scary but enjoyable. The game never feels dull, even through the infamous loading screens, because you are anxious to see what is on the other side of the door, and are always on the edge of your seat to see what will happen next.
The variety of weapons is great. The shotgun and magnum being the select favorites, their is also a rocker launcher to add that much needed sense of power. Not that the weapons in the game feel underpowered, on the contray, even the standard pistol feels strong enough to pop off a large group of zombies.
The enviroments of the game are just amazing. They lure you in with atmosphere and helps create the feel of the game. Though they arent 3d and mostly work as backdrops, they gaming enviroment such as the ground of shadows work well, and make you feel cold or alone. The sound is top notch, and also helps add to the fright factor.
This game is one that all cube owners must buy, or play at least once. It is a classic as a remake and in its own right. A near perfect game
