Still as great as it was 12 years ago. (Classics)

This is a review in preparation for the updated version coming to all current gen consoles due out in 1st quarter 2015.

Being a huge of this survival series from way back to the PS1 era I was excited but nervous to know there was a remake being made, the reason I was nervous was because of the console it was being created for exclusively at this point. Gamecube, from Nintendo with their history of toning down violent games for to keep their target demographic kids. Mortal Kombat anyone? But I was suprised that not only was the violence uncut but it was more graphic & realistic than the original game with way more puzzles, New areas & new weapons kerosene for example & now more threatening enemies Crimson Heads being most memorable for their ferocity & faster speed than the average zombie, Plus they were harder to put down, once down you'd better have some kerosene handy to burn them thanks to the new options to burn the corpses the flammable liquid is a nice new weapon against these uber-powered zombies .

That's not all! The graphics were arguably the best seen on any system at this time with incredible sound to match, The story while not drastically changed from the original is more in depth, with more character development & cut scenes the game is bigger than the original with more replay value too, I recently dusted off my old Gamecube to have a marathon on my beloved Resident Evil: Remake & it holds up today as it did when I first bought it & I'm still finding something new to unlock even now & the control layout had a massive overhaul with a more responsive feel so you the player actually feel in control of the characters actions there are several control types including classic for Resi purists out there so it suited all gamer's both nostalgic & the new generation in 2002, I feel old writing this as I remember buying it from my now sadly gone gaming store on launch day.

Now on to even more exciting news there's a remastered version of the remake coming early 2015 & it looks beautiful, If there ever was a game that deserved a remastering its this gem, There is bad news however this game will only be released as a digital download outside of Japan sadly & if your like me & love a game you can actually hold, When I download a game even when I pay for it I still don't feel I own it. Do any other gamer's feel this game deserves a real disk release? Consider its history a brilliant classic game unappreciated on Gamecube but this is a new generation of consoles & a new generation of gamer's can have the chance to appreciate this game more if released properly by having their own disk.
