A solid entry to the franchise and a return to form, unfortunately with a few problems.

User Rating: 9 | Resident Evil: Revelations 3DS
The first true Resident Evil game on a handheld device and it shines as a solid entry with a return to the horror roots for the franchise. You can refute my claim as it being the first true handheld RE game but before this we've only had the non-canon Gaiden on the GBC, a port of the first game on DS, and the Mercenaries pack on 3DS. This is the first real handheld title in the series, now for the actual review.

The Good: This game features a solid score, a return to horror over action (at least in Jill's sections), and a pretty solid plot, cast, and control scheme. The game features a range on difficulty levels, weapon customization, cast of characters controlled through the campaign, and the Raid mode which allows players to redo campaign missions with friends wirelessly. The campaign is solid taking a few hours to complete. My initial playthrough took about 8 hours. That's about average length or just under the length of an RE game. The graphics are great looking as good as most modern console entries. An overall enjoyable experience.

The Bad: Or the problems. The control scheme I said was good and that is true but I would also say that it takes a while to get used to but once you are used to it the performance is quite fluid. Maybe I need to spend more time with the game but I couldn't seem to get the dodge mechanic to work correctly for me either. My only other issue with the title was the camera angle acting up at times and when follow a partner the door mechanics annoy me. You'll get what I mean when you play it ;)

A great addition to the series and you should check it out ;) At that I'll just say whatever happened to Rebecca, and if you want check out my RE union which I need to put some work into cause it needs more activity ;)
