The good, the bad, and the great

User Rating: 9.5 | Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 PS2
Last year Capcom released its first online Resident Evil game. The reviewers who reviewed the game, didnt actually sit and enjoy the games gameplay. But most of the people who bought it, loved it, as it really changed the series for Resident Evil. So when they decide to put in a sequel. Reviewers sighed while the fans cheered for joy. This time around, the experience is more fluid and slick than the first time around. You can actually walk and shoot which is actuallyis put into great effect and was done superbly. They also enhanced and decreased some things from each character to make it even more even. Just to say, the first Resident Evil game where you could walk and shoot was dead aim. Not many people liked that one either, but i found it to be fun when you had a guncon. But anyways. They also added another item to each character. For example, Kevin, besides getting his .45 he also gets a clip for it. Mark gets a clip for his gun. Jim gets a coin that keeps your guns from being broken. Yoko has a pendant that... does...something... Cindy has a cloth that stops the bleeding of a character. Alyssa has a stun gun. David has a lighter. and george has a ampoul shooter. I also enjoyed that each character has their abilities enhanced. Yoko can now slap a zombie in the face causing them to fall back a bit and this also causes her to crawl away. Which is useful for when you are surrounded. Jim can do a almost non stop swing thats sorta weak but can keep enemies off of you. Kevin can still kick but also has a george like tackle. Alyssa's backstep has been improved GREATLY. They weekend davids wrench throw though... They also got new voice actors, and all NPC's has their own voice actor as well. I only dont like Davids new voice, but besides that i liked all the other voices, since it now suits their character more. The levels are more well rounded this time and are longer, harder, and more fun. And have more of a reason to play through them. Since they all have multiple endings for each. There are now more weapons and they also all look different. But much better this time around as well. Also one feature i liked were the mini games. Which are fun and very easy to get into. As well as they also have GREATLY improved the servers, and there are now loads of them now. And there seems to usually be an average of atleast 600 players on. Which is 6x's the amount that they had last year. They also have added special events which are fun and have more than one reason to play through them, and alone are enough to keep you into the game. But one thing i didn't like was that there was only 5 levels. But thats usually the only flaw except that sometimes you will see lag during the games. But what online game doesnt have lag? Also some people complain for the lack of voice chat. But they dont understand it takes more than one year to master having the voices coming out of like the t.v. or can only be heard from a certain amount of rooms away. But besides all of that, the game is superbly done. And is also very slick; but a little hard to get into which some people dont seem to like. But once you're hooked. You're hooked. The games slick, fun, and well rounded gameplay is enough to keep any old school RE fan such as my fan hooked onto the game. There are also enough goodies and unlockables to sink your teeth into that will keep you going long enough to be maybe atleast a minimum of 6 months before the game starts to get dull at the slightest.
