User Rating: 9 | Resident Evil Code: Veronica X GC
Resident Evil: code Veronica X was originally released on the SEGA dreamcast, later it was ported to the playstation 2 and the gamecube. You can tell by the graphics it is a port. it is way below the standards of a gamecube title and they are awful compared to Resident Evil 0 and the Resident Evil remake. However the gameplay is very much like those games and the story is interesting. You play as Claire Redfield who was also in RE 2. You find yourself on an island owned by the Umbrella organization, where experiments have gone horribly wrong. This means there are lots of zombies crawling around and other mutated creatures. On the island you will also meet Alfred Ashford who runs the place, he is the heir of the evil Umbrella organization and is also part of the "Veronica project" which threatens the world. It's up to Claire to try and stop him.
It is a very long game and the horror element suffers from bad graphics and lack of tension. It does have nice puzzles to solve and a interesting story with some unexpected twists.

edit: i'm currently playing resident evil "the darkside chronicles" on the wii and you get to play code Veronica again as a on-rail shooter. going back to these places as the prison-camp, the house on the hill and the arctic lab i realised i had been too harsh on this game. the characters and the storylne are fantastic. i had such a good time facing the Ashfords again with Steve and Claire , this game gets a 9.
