Not much of a survival horror game like previous games of the franchise, but it does well as an action packed shooter.

User Rating: 8.5 | Resident Evil 5 (Collector's Edition) PS3
A lot of people have been saying that this game is bad, because it's different from it's predecessors. But I disagree, though it is in fact not much of a Resident Evil game, it is a great shooter packed with all sorts of action and is certainly very challenging.

I'll divide this review into two parts

The Good: Extremely smooth and consistent gameplay mechanics. Responsive controls. Excellent AI, particularly that of your partner. Excellent online and local co-op gameplay. A very fun variety of boss fights. A large arsenal, not to mention costly. Ammo is occasionally dropped from dead majinis (name of the game's "zombies"). Very long campaign with a lot of replay value.

The Bad: Repetitive. Sometimes quite boring, pretty much a result from the repetition. Difficulty is very irregular, at one point you are fighting a large group of majini without a single scratch and next thing you know you get ripped apart by a bug (one hit kill).

Conclusion: A solid experience, that will satisfy an average gamer's need for non-stop action.
