It's hard to outdo a standard and you can only duplicate it so many times before it loses its appeal, so Resident Evil 5 found itself in a tough spot, how to please hard core survival horror fans of the series but offer something new.

Well they improved the mechanics, the over the shoulder aiming feels much more free and steady and that helps everywhere but especially so in mercenaries mode when you are surrounded by lots of enemies. The co-op A.I if properly armed is very useful as you are always under pressure when fighting.

Visually its great, the characters are well done, including the new ones, the environments and cut scenes such as the lake sequence and the main facility are nicely detailed.

There is tons of stuff to unlock after finishing and replaying the game, from clothing to gun upgrades to game filters and other cookies.

This edition may not be the best in the series or the scariest, but it is well produced and worth the effort.
