It's not a survival horror like the old ones. But survival action is great too!
Graphics: Simply amazing. This game has the best graphics of all PS2 games. It's realistic and very detailed. The Gamecube version is better, I admit that. But the PS2 version is also nice. The environment looks cool too. 10/10
Controls : Awesome. It's true that you can't move while aiming, but this is a Resident Evil game at all. Anyway the controls are good. It's not complicated, but not easy too. Aim with the R1, and shoot with X. O and Square are the running buttons. Triangle brings up the map. With R2, you can order Ashley to do things like waiting. The D-pad replaces the left analog stick. The right analog stick is the camera. Move with the left analog stick. Reload with the O while aiming. You need 2 minutes to learn this. After that, the controls will be very easy. 8/10
Replayability : The game needs at least 11 hours to beat the first time, but it can go up to 20 hours easily. There are lot of extra things like weapons and costumes. The PS2 version also have "Separate Ways". This is a little expansion to the storyline, and you play as Ada! This also needs 3 hours to beat, and Separate Ways also have extras! As you can see, the replayability of the game is very good. There is 3 difficulty. Easy, normal and professional. You will replay this game! Trust me. 9/10
Sound and music : No problems. The sounds are realistic, and fearful. The music is superb. The music always fit to the game. There are really creepy musics as well. But the action musics are not missing too. The sound and the music are very good, and they're giving a nice atmosphere to the game. 9/10
AI and others : The AI is FANTASTIC !!! The enemy chase you, they put ladders to the walls, climb in through windows, and vault small obstacles. They giving a nice challenge to defeat them. They use weapons from a simple knife, to a powerful stun rod. Some enemy use the environment too! Especially the El Gigante. He grabs a tree, and try to hit you with it. Ashley (daughter of the President) has good AI too. When you aim at her, she ducks down, so you can shoot the enemy behind her. Beware! Ashley can die or taken away, which earns a GAME OVER sign. There are many weapons you can buy from the merchant and upgrade them to a real killing machine. About the story : You play as a secret agent, Leon S. Kennedy who survived the zombie outbreak in Racoon city. You go to Europe, because the daughter of the president is kidnapped, and someone saw her there. But when you get to the village, nightmares come real... 10/10
Resident evil 4:
A nearly perfect game. Everything is OK with it. There are no problems. It a lot of different than the old Resident Evil, but thanks to that, it's highly addictive. The graphics are beautiful, controls are good, you will replay it a few times, sounds are very nice and AI is better than any AI in other games. The mood is fearful and fantastic. This game is a must have for anyone! 9/10
