This game was very impressive despite the last few let downs.

User Rating: 9.4 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
When I first played this game, within minutes I realized that it was the best Resident Evil game I had ever played. These new camera angles are the best improvement out of anything. I might have liked the other Resident Evil games for Gamecube if they did not have those ridiculous camera angles. I hate having to walk foward when the camera is looking at my character's face! The over the shoulder camera provides the player with a much better view of his/her surroundings. It is easier to see and target enemies at different distances, and the laser sight really helps you to keep your shots accurate. In the other Resident Evil games, it was just point and shoot, and you hoped that you'd hit the zombie. Resident Evil 4 provides a non-frustrating control scheme, along with some great gameplay. It all combines together perfectly, to easily make Resident Evil 4 one of the best games on the Gamecube.

The story in this game was great! I liked how they used infected humans instead of zombies this time. This game has a lot of memorable moments. The most memorable part of the game for me was when I had to board up the windows and doors with chests and defend that first house. It reminded me of the movies, and I just enjoyed the whole idea of defending a house. I was pretty freaked out when the chainsaw guy broke through the window and I ran away, but then I got my head cut off. The sheer excitement that this game offers will keep you coming back to it, and you will find yourself missing meals just to bask in its constant action and thrill.

I also liked the additional survival modes and assignment Ada. Those really added a lot of replay value to the game. It is always nice when there is something more to be done after you beat the game. The mercenaries missions give you the same gameplay experience the story mode offers during most times. It also lets you play as Ada, a SWAT agent, Krauser, and a few other characters. With new characters come new abilities. The SWAT agent has the ability to snap the necks of even the chainsaw sisters. Each character has something special about them, whether it is a weapon set or a move. Each character takes a little getting used to, but it is fu to try and master their unique skills.

From beginning to end, Resident Evil 4 is an amazing game. There is so much fun to be experienced throughout the story mode, and in the mercenaries missions. Right when you start the game, the action has already begun. You zoom in on the small village, inhabited by infected people, and you see the two policemen burning at the stake. This game could easily scare anyone. I know I was scared when I was trying to protect Ashley from getting killed, and the enemies were coming at me from all sides. I found myself turning around, and then seeing a zombie right in front of me, in which case I would have to quickly dodge his swinging mace. Moments like that made me want to play the game nonstop.
"what are ya sellin'? "-- I also thought that the merchant was a pretty cool adition. The infinite rocket launcher is sweet! The merchant was a way to buy weapons and items without haing to pick them up in random place. I thought it was a bit more realistic than the other Resident Evil games. The shooting range was cool to, because it was a way to get away from the storyline while still playing in story mode.

To tell you the truth, I can't think of anything wrong with this game. Sure, the controls aren't nearly as tight on the PS2 as on the Gamecube, but they are still great. The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is flawless, and the sound is great too. I like the ambient sounds when the regenerators start coming after you. The graphics are amazing, and they look really nice on the Gamecube; maybe not as nice on the PS2, but its hard to differentiate between them. Even though the graphics look a little "gritty", I think that further adds to the horror effect. Resident Evil 4 was a very well done game, and for now, its one fo the best games I've ever played. I'm on my second round, and I might play a third.

That's all stranger.
