This game vastly improved my opinion of the red faction series, though i only played the original besides this one. For me this game was a breeze to play through. I didn't run into any slow boring pacing, or overly frustrating missions (like in say, Far Cry 2). This game reminds me of Far Cry 2 with a Total Recall theme =P.

Pros: Unique game feature (destructible environment). Well designed sandbox world. Smooth game pacing (encourages finish through.) Comfortable controls. Some very fun weapons, the obscene power of the hammer never got old.

Cons: Various weapon viability; some weapons are poorly balanced with other weapons making some weapons completely useless aside from novelty. Story missions in most cases differ little from standard destroy target building missions.

bottom line: if the idea of pulverizing buildings again and again sounds fun, you'll love this =P
