It's a total destruction fun sandbox game.

I didn't know the Red Faction series, so I had no idea of what I was buying. But it was 15$ and it had good reviews, so I gave it a chance. The story isn't totally new and it reminded me of Saints Row 2, but instead of having to rule the city again, you have to conquer each territory sequentially. It's pretty solid, though.

The destruction engine is great. There is one or another imperfection, but it's okay. You can have a lot of fun. The trophy tracking system is great, but you will still need a map to find the collectibles.

The multiplayer is, as of 2010, Summer, almost dead. You will be lucky if you find anyone on-line, so you'll need to boost those trophies, which are ridiculous (5000 kills is achievable in MW2, but here you'll need to be Chuck Norris).

I'm giving it an 8.5 because it's fun, has variety in MP, (though I can't know if I'm levelling up or not), but the story could be more refined.

It is pretty much worth the 15$.
