Hard gameplay makes for good replay value but sometimes alittle frustrating.

User Rating: 7.5 | Rayman PS
Theres a reason this game is the best selling Playstation game of all time in the UK and thats because its a down right fun expierence.

You start the game by learning that the evil Mr Dark has stole The Great Protoon and captured all the electoons, scattering them around the world. Rayman must fight his way through a side scrolling set of levels set in 6 different enviroments to free every electoon cage in order to get to Mr Darks Candy Chateau. Along the way you will have to solve puzzles along with fighting 6 different bosses of each world.

The biggest thing to note with the original Rayman is its difficulty, although starting off easy enough it really picks up and the task of finding and free every electoon cage is no easy thing. Although with thinking and refining every move helps, you're going to need alittle luck along the way. The difficultly does give the game good replay value and can have you playing it for hours, this isn't a game you'll be expecting to complete anytime after first picking it up. Fun mixed with frustration is the best way you can describe playing this game, It can deliever a nice expierence if you don't mind retrying a level after the countlessly being hit by a swinging spike while jumping on a moving cloud.

The games cartoon look and low graphics can put you off at a first glance, but if you stop to look at the well designed and artistic enviroments its easy to believe it was made by a french artists. However the graphics may not be its strong point, it has a great music score and catchy tunes.

In all Rayman delivers a fun experience with good replay value as long as you don't mind going back and working on getting to your unltimate goal through quite challenging gameplay.
