This game started the franchise right, making it with color graphics, wonderful music, and awesome 2d game.
Story: Mr. Dark (the villian of the game) steals, the great protoon, along with the Electoons, while Betilla the Fairy Tries to stop Mr Dark, however she was not powerful enough. So they send Rayman to stop him, while getting powers from Betilla.
Gameplay: It's your traditional 2D side-scroller, while that's true, they're are some hidden secret goodies in each level, though it is a linear game, your objective is to break ope n one out of the 6 cages in order to reach the final level Eniemes like the Livingstones, or the Crickets, might be tricky to hit, but once you use your fist, that comes back to you. They're 5 powers in this game, (3 of them are automatically will be available in all the games after this.) including: to Punch, Hang from ledges, Grab on Purple Os, Float with your helicopter, and finally Run. These power will help you getting all the remaining electoon cages in the last remainer in the game. They're also temporary powers in this game, that are only used once, in the game. There's the magic bean given by Tarayzan, it's allow to plant plants, in order to reach to higher platforms. The Super Helicopter given by the Musician, which allows to "fly" with your helicopter, it's used two times in Mr. Stone's Peaks, and once in pencil Penalization, making the useful temporary power in the Rayman series, to date.
