Rayman is one of my favorite games.
You may recognize Rayman from the wii game raving rabbids.
UBI SOFT'S FIRST GAME
Graphics: This game has very good graphics. Unfortunately everyone wanted to see 3d graphics on playstation. The game's graphics a bright, colorful, detailed, but not over saturated. This game's graphics remind me of Ristar for the genesis. Even the first level is similar to the first level in ristar.Unlike most 2D playstaion games all the objects are smooth around the edges. Overall the graphics are impressive.
Gameplay:You start on a map screen with One level playable. You must beat one level before you progress to another. This is much like donkey kong country's map screen. This would seem like a usual 2D platformer on the first level but. Once you get into you see some uniqueness. Every the you beat a few levels you meet the betila the fairy who gives you special powers. The most unique thing about this game is that Rayman has no neck, arms, or legs. Instead his torso, head, hands, feet are all able to float in mid-air. Betila later gives you the power to punch. Rayman does this by throwing his fists and they come right back to his torso like boomerangs. When Rayman does this to bad guys, most of them fly deep into space or the heaven. All I know is that they're not coming back to earth for a long time. Another cool power you get is you can use your hair like a helicopter. Much like bugs bunny can use his ears like a helicopter or maybe even tails with his tails. There are even more cool powers you'll have to see for yourself. Although the game is very challenging. At fist the game seems easy ,but the more you progress the harder in gets. Overall, it's a very fun game.
Story: An animated FMV begins in a room empty room lit by a spotlight. There is silence and suddenly a wizard appears out of a hat and narrates the story: Hi folks you want to what's going on let me tell you the story of Rayman! In Rayman's world, nature and people live together in peace. The great protoon(proton) maintains the harmony and balance of the world. Sorry folks , this apparently can't last. One fateful day, the evil Mr. Dark steals the great protoon and defeats betila the fairy as Tries to protect it! The electoons (electrons) who used gravitate around it looses their natural ability and are scattered all over the world. In this now unbalanced world, strange phenomena start the occur. Freaks and hostile characters begin to appear. They definitely need a hero to save them now don't you think? RAYMAN to the rescue!! 'no problem'!
Design: The game's levels are well designed and creative. Each World has about 5-8 levels.
Each level has about 3-8 levels within the level. An example of well and creative levels would be the music level. The place is filled with slippery and shinny music bars. You can pick up speed by sliding down on them. The level is also filled with instruments and sharp notes. The sharp notes will cut ya up goood.
Music and sound: The sounds are very good and amusing to listen to. The music is good too. It's very catchy, well recorded and sets the mood for every level.
This is a great game! 9/10 Buy IT!
