Ubisoft has done it again!!

User Rating: 9.7 | Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc GC
This is the sequel to Rayman 2, one of the best games of the 64-bit era. Now, Ubisoft decides to make a sequel. It isn't as good as Rayman 2, but its one of the best platformers on the Gamecube. I wish this got more attention!!

Gameplay: If you've play a Mario or any other platformer, you will love this too. Its a simple game, but lots of the puzzles require "thinking". Jump around like a maniac, and collecting collectables ( lol ) is the main thing in any platformer. That, or traversing to the goal. This is more like a free roaming platformer, but seems sort of forced. Near the start of the game, you don't have much of a choice, but later on in the enigmous journey, you honestly do. The level designs don't quite match this games's prequel but they are good enough to earn this game a high grade. There are many power-ups in this game, a lot of them unique. Another great feature in Rayman 3, is the mini-games. Some of these are really great; others are terrible. Surprisingly, there is the option to connect to the GBA version of Hoodlum Havoc. Some of these mini-games require you to connect the Game Boy, but don't even require a game pak. How neat!! The single player mode has a lot more fighting than Rayman 2, but in a way, its a good thing.

Graphics: Great graphics!! Seriously, these are some of the best graphics available for the system. The scenery in this game is fantastic, and the jewel-incrested skies aren't chopped liver, either. I seriously thought I was on crack when I was playing through some of the wacky levels contained in this disc.

Sound: Marvelous!! Everything about this game is freaking marvelous!! However composed the music is like god. Its not really music, but more of nature-esque themes. Thats the kind of sound I'd like more out of my video games!! The voice acting is pretty good, but I prefer the made up language found in Rayman 2.

Replay: Just like any platformer, the game needs to end, but Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc is really long. It may not be as open ended as something like, Mario 64, but its charming either way. Rayman deserves more attention. You can't forget about the enormous amount of bonus features. Typical, Ubisoft.

Buy, Rent, or Leave: For anybody that is a fan of platformers or action games, check this game out. Its one of the best platformers available for the system. Rent it if you can, but this game is relatively old, so look hard!! Its not as hard to find as something like Bomberman Generation, though. Leave this if you dislike Rayman or are sick of uninspired obstacle courses. What I'm I saying... BUY THE FREAKING GAME!!!!

Conclusion: Good job Ubisoft, you actually made a great game with Michel Ancel's help. I hope they can use this game as a stepping stone in the future. I'd love to see a future game like this... Also, stay tuned for my Rayman: Raving Rabbids review, coming soon!
