Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ proves yet again what you can do if you put brilliant minds together.

User Rating: 9.5 | Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction PS3
The Good:
Thrilling new vistas is beautifully astonishing • Running and gunning is very entertaining • Ratchet looks better than ever before in this new game • Great replay value.

The Bad:
After completing Challenge Mode a few times the game becomes effortlessly more easily to complete • It becomes tedious to collect everything on huge planets • Simple straightforward level design on some planets does this game no good.

As we all know, Ratchet & Clank has been inspiring us with its great gameplay mechanics and visuals for some time now (but mostly for its gameplay). The Ratchet & Clank series has been famous for its gameplay mechanics, great platform designs, puzzle layouts and weapon/gadget features. What makes Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ so great is that, since it was created for the Playstation®3 (making the visuals that you see in the game automatically high-definition) the SIXAXIS™ Wireless Controller can be exploited, allowing you to play some mini-games with it, if you like to of cause. But enough about how the game uses the Playstation®3 to its advantage, if playing through Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ you will find that every planet you visit has a unique lush, fertile blooming landscape filled with unique features and enemies. The Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ gameplay doesn't differ much from its counter-parts as running and gunning, platforms and collecting stuff is still part of this game. But where Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ show that it is different, is in its new features, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ allows you to upgrade your weapons using a new collectable currency found in the game called raritanium and adds new mini-games, such as the ability to fly. Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ also adds the praised Arena Combat Missions, first seen in Ratchet & Clank: 3™, allowing players to take some time off and earn some bolts and raritanium while they are at it. Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ has a way of allowing newer players to play through the game and live the story without having to play previous games to find out what the story is about. Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ has quirky glitches in its physics system, because Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ is a Playstaion®3 game you would expect Ratchet's legs to bend or lean when standing on rocks, when entering a part of a level filled with some crates it would ironically just fall over at anytime if the game camera is facing it. The programmers working on Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ should have improvised a little in the code of the game when playing through Challenge Mode because, going out of your way to collect something you already have to open a door or lower a bridge is just plain time wasting when playing Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ in Challenge Mode. Some features on planets could have been polished more, because it gives you a sense of lack of fiction-realism.

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ is what we gamers of today can call a true game, leaving behind somewhat of a legacy. True inspiration, effort and timeless sacrifice have gone into this game, which is what makes Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ one of the best games developed for the Playstation®3. I would recommend Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction™ as one of your first Playstation®3 games, if not your last.
