As I expected the new id game, it was very addictive. The idea in my head watching all the previews awaiting the games arrival was a mix between Fallout, and Borderlands with a new amped up paint job. It did feel a lot like Borderlands rural wasteland with the graphic design it should have had in the first place. The mix between switching weapons or switching ammo for your weapons while building turrets, bots, and RC explosives was more fun then I had thought it would be. I'd say this is one of the must play games of 2011. However, the extremly addictive, high fun, powerfully story driven, beautiful shooter made it very had to put it down. I explored 98% of the games side missions/races/jumps and still found my self at the anti-climatic ending within 13.5 hours. If you've ever played the fantastic story of Homefront, you might understand my frustration. I feel let down by the amazing story coming to an end right before the s#$t hits the fan. I'm very happy with the game overall, and most of all happy I decided to rent instead of buy. I'd like to point out most of the popular game rental services/stores have a 1/2 off sign up this period. It made it possible for me to fully enjoy this extensive wasteland, with out feeling I wasted money.
