An amazing game with a few problems

First Ill start off by saying I would give this game a 9.0 if the ending wasn't such a letdown. Seriously one of the worst endings to a game Ive seen in awhile. Fortunatley the journey to get there is a ton of fun. The gameplay is a standard FPS shooter mixed with elements of an RPG and with a side of Car Combat.. There is no experience or leveling up like in most RPGs but you do quite a bit of exploring, interacting with the residents of the Wasteland, upgrading, crafting items and ammo types for your assortment of guns, and questing. I found the characters in the game to be quite interesting and was always looking forward to the next line of dialouge.. They will give you different types of tasks to complete, like clearing a bandit lair or recovering an item for them.. There is usually a reward for completeing the task like an upgrade for a weapon or cash. On these quests is where the majority of the FPS comes in, its a ton of fun with the large assortment of weapons at your disposal and actually does take some strategy in picking weapon types and ammo.. Unfortunatley the game is really easy, even on hard mode for me. Made even easier is your character is equiped with a defibulator which can revive you if you get killed, to do it you play a brief minigame. The weapons at your disposal are a pistol, which can be equiped with a scope, an assault rifle, Authority rifle, a shotgun(with standard rounds, pulse rounds, and very useful pop rockets), crossbow (4 different ammo types), a sniper rifle, a rocket launcher, and at the end the minigun pulse rifle. As well as these weapons you can construct sentry turrets, sentry bots, and RC car bombs. These can be alot of fun to experiment with. You can also partake in minigames, and gambling to increase your money for useful items. There is a dice rolling hologram game which is problary the easiest game to make some quick cash, a challenging five finger fillet game, a strumming game, a magic the gathering style card game where you collect cards from different areas to build your deck. Theres also a quite a few races to compete in for upgrading your car which is a ton of fun and can be quite challenging at times.

One of the best things about this game are the graphics which are absolutlet stunning.. Probably one of the best if not the best looking games ive ever played.. The enviroments are incredibley detailed, from the wastelands with crumbling highways and steep canyons everywhere. You can see different types of cave markings, and graffitti on different areas. The towns look beautiful as well, with the citizens walking about, or playing a game. You can see tire markings, gravel, and puddles which all add to it. The character models and animations in this game are among the best there is to. Enemies will climb on ceilings, lunge from side to side, and stumble forward clutching there neck as they are dieing. This game also has maybe arguabley the most attractive females in a game to date, they do look very good. The sound effects in the game to are amazing with small sounds like crumbling of stones beneath your feet, to the sound of birds, or the chime of music playing behind a closed door.. The voice acting while nothing spectalur is really well done to. The music is somewhat forgettable but sets the pace very nicely.

The story of this game is definatley a weak point and it really doesn't build up to anything epic or amazing at the end. You wake up in your underground arc after having been in cryosleep for about 100 years and then all of a sudden everyone wants your help with something.. I found it kindof funny that someone who had no experience with a post appocalyptic world is being asked to raid bandit camps and slaughter enemies.. The authority is a presense that has taken over after the collapse and you end up going against them with the resistance. It really seems they set themselves up for a sequel at the end since it really doesn't even seem like an end to a game.

Overall I do definatley recommend this game to almost anyone who likes this style of game. I haven't tried the multiplayer yet but it consists of car combat and a cooperative 2 player game. My total playtime was about 25 hours because I spent alot of time doing the minigames and side missions.
