From Hell with dread!

User Rating: 1.5 | Pyramid NES
Pyramid for the NES is one of those games that are so downright terrible, that it is pathetic. This game has to be the worst Tetris rip-off of all time. Obviously someone at American Video Entertainment thought that the idea behind Tetris was just plain stupid, and boring to boot! So why not change it up and make all of the pieces Triangles, or triangle derivatives? I'll tell you why. It is so pathetically hard to figure out how any of these pieces are supposed to fit together, that I can't even play the game.
I will give them credit for the controls. For an unlicensed game, they are incredibly smooth, although you have to get used to the way the pieces rotate. It's awkward at first. But this does not make up for the hellishness of this game. You start off in typical Tetris fashion, but the music is some dreadful Egyptian-esque garbage. The triangular pieces start to fall from the top, and you try to rotate them every which way until they inevitably touch down wrong. After about fifteen, twenty minutes, you lose. That's it. I've never gotten any farther, and I likely never will, as I have already decided to never play this game again.
