User Rating: 9.3 | Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy PS2
Psi-Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy is a third-person shooter set in a world of deceit, lies, and (as seen in the title) conspiracy. What separates this game from the immense wave of third-persons you ask? Quite simply, everything. In Psi-Ops, you play as Nick Scryer, a mindgate defense soldier that has had his mind erased and slowly recovers super Psi powers. The game starts you off in hostile territory, behind enemy lines if you will, your objective is to follow a strange voice in your head. The game then introduces you to it's fluid weapon system. Your fire arms go by main weapon and secondary. You can acquire such guns as sniper rifles, to shotguns, to good ol' automatics. But if you're playing Psi-Ops, it's not the weapons of the physical world that you're looking for, it is the ones of the mental world. The game quickly gives you one of the most famous Psi abilities, telekenisis, the abillity to move objects with your mind. With a near fully destructable environment, theres a lot to move.
As you continue in the game, you will witness the unfolding of an immersive plot line as Scryer attempts to remember the past and help save the future from the evil General thats looking for the "Ultimate Weapon". The sound in Psi-Ops is very good, the background montage will change depending on your situation. It is very well orchestrated and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
In summary, if it's a good third-person shooter you're looking for, Psi-Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy is one of the best.
