Argonaut will have to seek out a new publisher for its Xbox and PlayStation 2 action game.

VU Games has officially dropped Argonaut’s upcoming action game Malice from its release schedule. The game, which was originally shown as a tech demo for the Xbox’s graphical capabilities, has seen numerous delays and was a no-show at E3 2003. Argonaut can find another publisher for the game if the company still wants to release it.

The game puts players in the role of a young girl named Malice who is capable of using various magic spells and wielding a wide variety of powerful weapons. No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani was going to provide the voice for the game’s lead character. Some of the band’s songs were also going to be included in Malice’s soundtrack.

We’ll post more as it develops.
