I'm contemplating doing this, but my problem is artifacting similar to this. So I'm wondering does this mean my gpu is already shot or will reapplying new thermal paste fix the issue?

This is a start. You will start experiencing that in more and more games but that is what mine was doing even as far back as when the orange box came out. Only happened on TF2 but slowly spread to more and more games. That RSX chip is getting hot with the crappy thermal paste. If you have a warranty use it. If not....I hope you don't mind taking your PS3 apart. I've done it and the artifacting is still there in some games. It's probably permanently damaged. But I ran mine that way for quite some time because I didn't know any better cause I just thought it was software at the time.

I got it a while back to play against bots only offline myself. It's a change of pace to just fire quake wars up instead of TF2 or BC2 and then go against the bots. I had played it on PS3 and 360 and enjoyed it there too so the for me the PC version was a no brainer. I say get it. It's the price of a movie and I'm sure you enjoy it for more than 3 hours.

Another thing would be to say whether or not you are connected wireless or wired. If wireless then there are NUMEROUS variables to cause the problems. Wired...not so many.

[QUOTE="Chaos_Bladez"]Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, & MGS4 are the only games I have that run at 1080p. I don't actually have Bioshock 2 but I assume it is.

My TV stays at 1080p when playing Bioshock 2. Although...I may see if it looks better by unchecking 1080p and going to 720p for the game. I think the visuals for it are a bit underwhelming at 1080. Dull if you will.
