I can't force myself to believe in god, it's that simple. I can't just wake up one day and say, "I think I'll believe in god today." It's simply impossible. A teacher I once had posed that same gamble question, that if Atheism is right, then everyone rots in the ground, but if theists are right, then they go to the heaven and the Atheists go to hell. It's a terrible theory because true theists believe heartily, and if you're faking it to get into heaven god would catch you.

I would go there, but the next week of my life would be ruined because once I get into an arguement about religion I can't stop. I don't believe in a higher power or any religion, but I don't care what people believe. It just pisses me off when people push their religion down your throat and claim that their religion is the correct one, when there is more proof that all religion is false then any is true in the first place. -DarkestHour-

Then a traitor led the Persians to a secret passage and they slaughtered the Spartans. During the battle, those Spartans who had lost their weapons fought on with tooth and nail. That's just how awesome they are.
Honostly, I think organized religion is the worst thing to ever happen. I think we should just do away with it all. Parents should teach their children several different religious views and encourage them to look into it some more. When a child reaches adulthood, they should be encouraged to think and come up with their own beliefs.
I heard someone was a "Syntheist", a philosophy he described as an exchange of ideas and beliefs. Person A said, "Well, hey, I believe this." and Person B would say, "That's pretty cool, I think this." Then they'd part ways and be wiser for the encounter, because they have a bit more knowledge. I just thought it was a great thing.
