It depends on your staff's durability. The one you have sounds like a normal to fine-type ebony staff (flame edition) unless you're using the Pyromancer. Truth be told, the unique (purple font) type weapons are the best because they have such a long usage count in comparison to the standard ones, making the dependence on repair kits very low - especially if you use you special moves (Quake, Mark of Flame, Ice Barrage, etc.). The 93 regular attack range is essentially the pinnacle for the most powerful fire staves in the game  (excluding their burning damage amounts). Best bet is to mix it up with fire chakrams (prismere, Allender and Solstice) along with a powered up Mark of Flame, to be effective against boggarts, threshes, sprite frost champions and spiders along with the usual suspects.
