@carl_je_g: I agree with you on what you wrote, almost word for word. Yes, whether gamers or regular media consumers, they may be able to separate fiction from reality, entertainment from real-life actions on a conscious level, but they're most definitely affected on a subconscious level; this was empirically proven using experiments. Inevitably, what we're exposed to habitually rubs off on us.

And yes, the more oblivious a person is to all that, the more influenced they become; and the more aware and contemplative a person is about it all, the less it influences them and the more aware they become. So even if you and I are still gamers or game consumers, the awareness and contemplation of what we observe helps significantly when it comes to influence and impression.

And I found your comments about the “soft-porn model-girl” who will open him up, quite hilarious.

@veldi: I think you're the only lame-ass moron who commented on my posts, so far. Congratulations.

@carl_je_g: I'm glad you agree, bud; it's not common anymore in the gaming community that I see anyone agreeing with how I comment on current games and movies. And I'm very glad to hear that AngryJoe talks about such things; I had no idea because I don't follow him closely, but I've always loved what I watched for him. And yes, it is sometimes actually annoying how some Japanese media productions seems to me like its “pretends” that everything here is normal and everyday life, when I'm actually watching something completely and thoroughly nonsensical due to the gross contradictions between sexualization and seriousness, or mixing cheap whoring and innocence, or outrageous slutty and provocative outfits and looks on a supposedly 100% professional victimized supergirl. I think they should stick to putting all that in a comical context so Westerners can still swallow their media or games without rolling their eyes. Although obviously some young male Westerners are being assimilated and buying into the nonsense and illogical crap or incompatible mixtures.

@kane809: Tomb Raider character or protagonists are indeed sexualized, but not remotely to the level of the last female assassin from Metal Gear. The most recent Tomb Raider girl, at least, is not overly sexualized at all; there's always some subtle and covert sexualizing, of course, so their media product can sell more. But if you are fair, you would say that Japanese sexualization is like a scream in a Westerner's ear, compared to the Western sexualization that's “usually” like a whisper.

@rebfaction: If you think that an almost naked female character in a game or movie who happens to behave like a serious professional or assassin is just “entertainment”, then perhaps you also think that porn and prostitution is nothing more than “entertainment”, and if that's the case, then we have nothing to debate; you've been thoroughly brainwashed and assimilated.

@carl_je_g: Just like the mostly naked girl with invisibility powers in the last Metal Gears. Looks and dresses like an emo, and supposedly a very dangerous assassin. I think the Japanese idea of fiction is way beyond the Western expectation and understanding; same for the overuse of sexuality or sexualized characters to a level that is beyond Western comprehension and acceptance.

@veldi: If it wasn't sarcasm, then you were free to point out where exactly I was funny from your perspective; you didn't. And that was another lousy comeback. Try even harder.

@Gelugon_baat: Circular arguments, my ass. Look, if you can't actually show how one point leads to another until the last point leads to the first, which makes a circle, then shut. The. ****. Up. And go practice ignorant argumentation with someone else. Waste of time asshole.

@veldi: Since I can be funny, but I wasn't trying to be in my comments above, then you must be making a lame-ass attempt at sarcasm. Try harder.
