Most box stores don't carry that many games (even best buy). Gamespot was the only few with some selection, grant I don't like their open box as new policy. So now we have to buy things online or off the psn/xbox digital store.
I think if they do close they will still bill you (as an online store) so it isn't like free rent peopel think they will get.
Since there isn't really any game I want, I will hold out for a black color version. This white model looks weird. If they are selling the developer kit I would get that one over this too. For the record, I like the phat ps3 look.
@jcan1701: the series X version has 12telfop gpu/cpu, will do 4k 60fps. This model does 1440p, so the hardware gpu/cpu (they are both on the same chip) is lesser just like the Xbox 1 s verse X. That is the assumption because of the resolution differences.
You might be thinking sony versions, but we haven't seen final spec on both of those model either.
@bababooey12: my point is most consoles are played on tv and they are 1080p and 4k and should go for 4k for next gen (as standard, downsampling is a fine option for 1080). I have a 4k tv for a few years now. Of course, this is for the budget market.
@Barighm: I wasn't talking about 4k downsampling. I was talking about my computer 1980x1080 output to a 4k computer screen that was not as good as my 4k output to 4k screen native to native. My main computer broke.
For Downscaling sure, usually better hardware is used for downscaling from 4k to 1080p, at least the fps are better.
@lonewolf1044: I am an older gamer, my first system was Intellivision. So I don't game as much as I used too. I get dizzy from fps so that elimated a lot of the games, mostly computer fps. I still use my computer for rts and diablo style games. Most 3rd person are PS5 since they have the best game library for that. I do have an xbox 1 s, but is mostly for movies. Can't wait for the 3070 to build a new computer. I am in architecture so raytracing is a standard for high end rendering (I don't think amd rt version will have the decidated hardware like nvidia) plus photo-editing, some video editing which nvidia cu cores seem to accelerate per adobe.
@jergernice1: it is rescaling, it won't be true 4k. Also rescaling for the 1080p tv. But the point is 4k native screen looks best with matching resolution. My 4k screen is running off a 1080p laptop output and it doesn't look quite as smooth. the other laptop that can do 4k is broken but looks way better. Still looking for the other vertical resolution, 1440 is the hortizontal.
@lonewolf1044: I was joking, referring to rgb led lighting like computer and ps5. I toss rgb composite/component cables on sight. (I put them in a recycle bin). Do do wish the console can upgrade. Because it is taking each generation longer.
