Honestly, if I lived in the Dead Space universe, worked in a science field, and wasn't Isaac, I'd probably think the markers were pretty cool. Rapid tissue regeneration, complete / instant gene re-sequencing, transmitting energy over vast distances without needing a medium, telepathic communication, etc. Think of all the possible applications - starships that don't need to carry fuel or a reactor, healthcare as a phone app, telepathic Internet, I could go on and on. It would create entire new industries.
