This looks very cool, but for the Batman: Arkham games I always end up regretting not waiting until the GOTY edition comes out. I know it doesn't come with all the extra goodies the collector's edition has, but for the same price of the regular game, you get all the dlc. What to do? What to do?
@macca366 This is not your "typical" RPG, as the thematic is very mature and complex. You are not here to "save the galaxy", or "rescue a princess in distress". The main character (Geralt of Rivia) is kind of an amoral person, he is not "good" nor "bad"; he's a monster hunter, trying to survive, who has been pulled unwillingly into a game of power and deception.
Now, by "mature", I'm not talking about nudity (which the game does have in spades); I'm talking about how intricate the story is. Remember that this is a direct follow-up to the 1st Witcher game and it takes a LOT of the previous game. Expect to do plenty of in-game reading (opening books, scrolls, etc), otherwise not only you will miss the wonderful and unique lore of the game, but also key elements that will help you understand the plot.
To me (as in: personal opinion), the combat was kind of a let down. It very well could be because I suck, I have no regrets admitting it. However, that was not enough to lessen the experience.
If you are an avid RPG gamer, who values a great story, you can't go wrong with the Witcher 2. Mind you, it is advisable (another personal opinion) that you read a summary of what happened during the events of the original Witcher game. If you have no idea of what went on, you may feel out of the loop and fail to get involved with the current story. Sorry if this just took too long. Cheers!
