@TAracer: Using this logic, you couldn't give any gen a fair shake even if you liked it since you couldn't play anywhere close to everything in any generation. I know my tastes at this point as I've been involved for 3 decades now, I actually know what's out there as I do follow the industry which you assume I don't since I try to give it constant changes to sway me, I know how they play and I know how the current climate works relative to what I like.

If you've been gaming a long time and still don't understand your tastes or basic game design (which I am very familiar with) to have a great idea if something is for you or not without playing it, I don't know what to tell you. I'm far more aware of what is out there, in fact I'm far more aware than you are given I actually research the industry. These feelings didn't come only from playing a mere handful of games which again is another assumption you made and not actual fact. You're thinking way too small and bringing your assumptions into things just like. I don't understand why it clearly bugs so many people of you that this gen just not appealing to me. Most the console exclusives to me this gen just aren't that appealing which is why the little gaming I do now is on PC exclusively.

A mere handful of exclusives I actually like isn't enough to get me to buy a console or consider the generation saved or worthwhile when compared to PC they are greatly eclipsed in options in the modern climate for me.

@Defender1978: Games like the Witcher aren't to my tastes. They aren't fun to play and bore me personally.

@Jinzo_111887: Yeah, I actually thought indie games were going to be the savior of this generation for me. Turns out they weren't. There's some good stuff out there just like there is for the mainstream games so I'm not condemning EVERYTHING like people think. I'm just saying by far and large it's not enough for me to care. Most the best indie stuff obvious imitations or inspired by stuff I did enjoy and doesn't feel like something "original" that would have actually come out at the time.

Even then, most indies aren't very good since most non-indie games aren't very good either as that's always been the case for gaming so wasn't surprised. So I still have the issue of there not being as many indies as I would like. There's also the fact that I liked the PS1 and N64 gen the best and most indies go the 8 bit and 16 bit route so I had more limited options to begin with.

@craigtl: Buying retro games can get super expensive, especially if you're buying for something like Saturn and are like me and picky with the condition of the games.

@blood-souls: I have played them, that's how I know they're not really clicking with me. I'm not going by just what I looked at. I never said that, I don't know why people auto assumed that was the case.

@gfantini: You're assuming I don't know what I'm missing out as you assume I didn't actually play these games when I did. I do have friends and families with consoles and I have played Bloodborne and couldn't get into it. I don't like games like the new God of War and I have played a number of the big name games of today and they just didn't click really. Only one I really care about is Tekken 7 as a long term Tekken fan but that's on PC so I don't need a console for that and one game doesn't save a generation.

You don't even know my gaming tastes and there's a LOT of them out there. Fact is, some genres have changed drastically and many genres are basically dead or are on life support. If I primarily played genres this applied to it would make sense why there would be little to appeal to me. In my case, this is overwhelmingly true.

Square Enix for example basically just makes games I used to enjoy in name only now. I can't stand what they have done to Final Fantasy and I know because I have played FFXIII and FFXV and despised them as well as when they revisited a number of classics or old genres the past two gens.

Actually read what is written and ask about a situation instead of assuming you know it and applying your incorrect assumptions as fact.

How has this series done ever since the Tiger Woods stuff went down all those years ago? Did it suffer majorly as a result and enough people dropped it that we got to a point EA didn't care to keep the license?

Been gaming since the NES and this is the first generation I have skipped and have not regretted it. Now it's only got 3 more years at best until the successors come out. I feel like I have missed very little of value as I follow it but just can't care. Thought it was me getting sick of games but started playing games from older generations I had never played before and fell in love with them. Played a few of the newer games on friends PS4s and PCs and did not get this feeling even among games called some of the best of the generation. It's obvious the direction gaming has went is not for me. Not an attack, because that is normal for marketings to change over time but unfortunate that its changed so much that I can barely click with it and don't mind not having it as apart of my life anymore.

@Thanatos2k: Both the Sonic All-Stars Racing games were VERY good and among the best Kart Racers ever made. Transformed is EASILY top 3 kart racers ever made. It can hold its own with Crash Team Racing which is a HUGE statement as to its quality.
