[QUOTE="wavedash101"][QUOTE="Socrates88"]I never mention my favorite FF. It's FFVII. FFVII was one of the three industry changers in gameplay for video games in history. Street Fighter 2 and Mario 3 were the others. Mario 64 is debatable...Socrates88
Try SMB, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic 1, GTA III, Wii Sports, Super Metroid, Doom, Half-Life, Quake, Pac-Man, OoT, Alone in the Dark, Fallout, Virtua Fighter, Gran Turismo, Pokemon, Tetris, Civilization, Dune II, The Sims, Mortal Kombat, Pong...and if you dont consider SM 64 an industry changer, you cant consider FFVII one
Mario 3 - Before gaming was all about points scoring and simplistic running and jumping. Mario 3 brought an "emotion" to the protagonist. Every game after Mario 3 follow suit.
Street Fighter - Took multiplayer action to a new level. Simple consider the creator of "custom action sequences" Before SF2 "combos" never existed in gaming. They are now use in games all around Today.
FFVII - The first to tell a RPG is a cinematic fashion using "FMV". Is now commonly use in RPGs and other genres. Also the first game to actual "show" emotion in a 3-d enviorment which is also use today.
I have not seen a game yet to shape-shift the industry like these 3 games. Mario is debatable for the fact FFVII was the first to have a full 3-d environment.
Pong created the industry...SMB saved it...Wii Sports is getting people who dont know the first thing about video games into video games...Dune II invented the modern RTS, Alone in the Dark for the Survival horror genre, Zelda for the adventure game, GT for the racing sim, Doom for first person shooters, Tetris sold the Game Boy against superior opponents, GTA III created the sandbox genre as we know it...>_>
