I moved from the US to Canada for work, only to find out that my entire digital content of movies on iTunes (and Microsoft store) is region locked. Needless to say, I stopped by digital movies since. As long as the movie industry continue to exploit consumers with region locking, I will always buy physical disks that travel with me wherever I go.
That said, Sony's decision to forego UHD disk support has nothing to do with consumer trends and everything to do with not cannibalizing their current UHD players which sell for $349 min today.
I would have expected Gamespot to ask the right questions.
@northArrow: With all due respect, this is just a dumb reason. Even if you might never use this, you cannot argue that this is a pro-consumer move, in an industry dominated by anti-consumer practices.
@starvebox_one: There is nothing stopping other publishers (incl Sony) to provide the same program. So many people I know (and dont know) bought NMS on PS4 then on PC again, essentially paying twice for the same game. This is just wrong and anti-consumer. For once, Microsoft is showing the industry the right way forward, and they should be applauded by all gamers (including fanboys).
After playing this game on X1, I can now comment on the Gamespot score.
All I can say is,...WTF did you review, because it wasn't QB if you gave this a 6.
This game is freaking awesome on so many levels. The immersive story and cha after development is just one aspect. The innovative gameplay and beautiful rendition is another.
I cannot believe a professional can look themselves in a mirror and score this a 6, and then turn around and give a shallow barebones SFV a 7, and give a soulless, repetitive The Division an 8.
