so, I would really like to be able to play Half-Life and The Orange Box on my mac.
I do not really want to install Windows on my Mac via Bootcamp or Parallel Desktop or something... I've heard that you can play in Steam buying an application that's calledCrossOver Mac.
I would like to know if it runs very well, if you can play Half-Life or Portal perfectly on high detail with no inconveniences... Also I want to know how well it runs in online games, say CS Source or Team Fortress.
thanks.
Yes you can, butu need a diferent type of cable, ethernet is loosly related, most people think an ethernet cable is to connect ur PC to a router (internet for the technically dumb).
U need to get a Crossover cable, any ethernet cable will not do, the wires need to be altered in such a way that both computers recognise each other, also make sure u don't buy just an ethernet cable, it won't do, it needs to be a crossover cable, finding one can be a bit hard, but wen u do u can play against ur friend.
Try google crossover cable, and u should get a few hits (lol), then buy it, u may also want to research a bit into changing ur IP address, ull need that 2 play ur friend (make the computers talk 2 each other). An easier but slightly more expensive option would be to buy a switch, u may already have one, for ur internet access.
Sorry if that sounded a bit sarcastic, but i don't know ur level of PC experience, so i just let it all out

thank you, what I have IS a crossover cable... I hadn't played in my PC for ages and forgot these sort of things... I know I can do it with a router, I just asked this because a friend and I want to play with a single cable in school lol
please?
Can you play a game, like Warcraft 3 or Civilization or something, with a friend by plugging an ethernet cable between the two?
it sounds dumb but I want to know heheh
I sent my Xbox 360 to Microsoft for the three red lights about a year and a half ago. When it got back, it worked fine again... or so I thought...
A couple of weeks after I got my 360 back I noticed that it would freeze in the middle of some games... I bought Call Of Duty 4 and I couldn't play more than 5-10 minutes before it would freeze, I also froze with other games such as Assassin's Creed and some demos. Also, when I connected it to Xbox LIVE the menus in the dashboard (media, games, marketplace, etc.) wouldn't load, the circling "loading" logo would continue endlessly. I could still play the games that didn't freeze, but I had no access to the Dashboard menus. The truth is: I gave up. I gave up, I was lazy and to tormented to send it again for repairs, etc... Anyway, I stopped playing with it for a while.
Now I bought Guitar Hero and Halo 3 in hopes of it working and, while it can process Halo just fine, Guitar Hero freezes... What the hell is up with my 360? What can I do? What's the warranty status of my 360 right now?
help please!
