Thanks, I'll probably get them soon. 199 $CAN on tigerdirect.ca seems like a good price...

On my old system, turning the knob all the way down didn't completely shut the bass. It was still thumping.

Damn, that's the feature I wanted most. I can't use my system fully if family members are pissed by the constant thumping...

Hi, I'm looking to buy a new 5.1 surround system since mine is starting to be faulty after 3 years of loyal service. I have these two models in my mind, even though they're not in the same price range.

1.Logitech G-51

2.Logitech Z-5500

In my new system, here are two features I'd like to have:

-A way to completely cut off the bass at any moment. My old system could only lower the bass, it was always there and that annoyed other persons in the house. I'd like a way to turn it off completely while still keeping the same power from the 5 other speakers

-Connections for the Xbox 360 out of the box, and maybe a way to change between the two sources (PC, 360) through a remote or something. My Xbox360 is running on the same display as my PC, so right next to each other.

If both systems can do these systems, recommend me one, I don't care that much for the price bump on Z-5500, if it's worth it. I really want to get a great surround experience in my games, which my old system was not, it didn't work that well. Good software is a plus...

Thanks!

September 2008 Sees the Release of the Purple Box from Valve, similar to the Orange Box from last year. Here's the contents:

-Half-Life 2 : Episode Three

-Left 4 Dead

-Portal 2

All for the low price of 49,99$

*this is only speculation*

Wouldn't it be awesome? Left 4 Dead is already scheduled for release around September, HL2:EP3 is probably well underway since the release of EP2 (development started on it before the release of EP2) and Portal 2 doesn't seem like it would be complicated to build another 2 or 3 hour game. It would be a pretty similar package, Left 4 Dead replacing Team Fortress 2 as the multiplayer game. Valve would rise to a status of deity if they did that...

Here goes I have a Samsung Syncmaster 245BW 24'' LCD screen which is hooked up to my PC and 360. When I bought my 360 in January, I hooked it up to my LCD with this cable (Rocketfish HDMI-to-DVI)

Link to cable=

I've had a problem with it since the beginning, though I was too lazy to try to fix it before...on the left side and right side of the screens I can see thin white and grey lines horizontally. They aren't that bothering if the screen's colorful but let's say If I get close to it or am on a pale screen (ala 360 startup screen) I can definately see them. The worst thing in all this is those lines are actually some sort of decaled symetry of stuff on screen. In Mass Effect, I can see my dialogue options reproduced to the left of my screen (they pretty pale and sketcky though).

I thought about a defective cable, so I got a replacement. It does the same thing. It isn't my screen because I don't see them in Windows. Btw, I'm running the Xbox in 1900 x 1080 while my PC is in 1920 x 1200.

Any settings to change or anything to fix this problem?
