The Wii- I hesitate to even call it a console; its just a toy compared even to last gen consoles. I mean come on- no HD in 2010?!?!? we already are moving on to 3D, so catch the ---- up, Wii! and, motion control isn't an exclusive wii-only thing anymore.

Nintendo's first and second party > Sony's first and second party >>>>> Microsoft's first and second party I feel like I'd lose the least if the Xbox 360 dropped out. In fact, we might see Microsoft publish more PC games if they weren't trying to support a console (and a terrible phone OS they're trying to pass off as a gaming platform).savebattery

not biased at all

If we compare a PC gamer to a PC-less console gamer, the PC gamer will spend much less than the console gamer... Why? Because the console gamer will shop in stores. In EU that means VERY expensive games..... The online/STEAM shopping PC gamer will save truckloads of cash....True_Gamer_

True, so very true. Most new PC games cost around 20 bucks, while new console games cost 60. Also, PC gamers have the opportunity to buy package dealshttp://store.steampowered.com/sub/6937/ .

I think the TC is talking about sales. PC will never be able to compete in sales, unless it's a PC exlusive (but that's obvious) When you look at multiplatforms, other than the original starcraft and a few other older games (i.e Duke Nukem 3D)I doubt any multiplatform game has ever sold better on PC vs. a console.

The TC is not saying that the PC isn't good. He even mentions it's his preferred way to play games, however he is saying why he thinks the PC will never be able to compete in sales.

Sorry if someone has said this, I didn't feel like sifting through 6 pages of responses. Anyway I agree with you TC. I doubt PC will ever become as popular with gaming as it once was. For me it's the price tag on it, my computer can't run starcraft 2. That's pretty bad, but as a 15 year old kid, I don't have the money to buy parts for it. So I am a part of the majority that sticks with consoles.

Yes, I was referring to sales, and the economics of it.

Gotcha

In that case... we don't really know

We have very limited sales data for games on the PC since such a large part of the PC market is digital. I think the general impression from what numbers I've seen is that:

1) It depends on the title. Some titles tend to do better on the PC for various reasons.

2) Sales on most multi-plat would tend to be lower than sales on the X360 but not necessarily by a lot.

3) Since the PC have a lot more exclusives than the X360 and PS3, it's likely that this alone results in the PC gaming revenue being spread out over a larger number of titles.

4) A fair bit of PC Gaming revenues are generated through subscriptions, micro transactions and add-revenues. This means that a large part of the PC gaming market is even harder to track than digital sales.

5) A recent market survey suggested that the revenue generated overall by PC gaming is comparable to all the consoles (including the handheld) added together. It's hard to verify or disprove those numbers but if they are even remotely accurate, the PC is not just keeping up with the other gaming platforms, it's so far ahead of them that it's generating revenue comparable to all the others added together (source: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/post_msg.php?topic_id=27543689"e_msg_id=327408206):

Nice chart, I find it interesting that PC gaming in boxed and physical form actually can compete (to a degree) with PC games in download form (but downloads are up 60% and boxed is down 19%). I also had no idea that social network gaming is a billion dollar industry, and that console gross returns are down 29%.

This is basically what I meant by saying that console platforms are more attractive to devs and publishers.

unfortunately I never got to play games on school computers, but one time my friend put Counter strike on one of the laptops as a joke (it ran at 5 fps, because of a combo of bad hardware and bad connection). But I guess if flash games count, I played a lot of those miniclip side scrollers.

I was just wondering is Fable 3 is a game worth buying. You have to understand that I can only buy games every once in a while, so I need to make sure.

Is it better than Fable 2?

I am looking for a lot of replay value also

[QUOTE="MacDee23"]Avatar Indie game on the 360 = 50 pence Brand New PC game = 50 quid. See i can play that game too ! hahaMacDee23

You were already playing that game all along.

Your "gaming" PC costs more than a 360. That is fact. You have done nothing to prove PC gaming is cheaper than console gaming, whereas i have shown you plenty of prices to show that console gaming is cheaper than PC gaming. Show me a gaming PC that costs 199.99 and not a cent more and you will have convinced me otherwise. The reason you don't, is because you can't.

you have done a marvelous job ignoring my post(s) that disprove this
