I played the PS3 version of F3 on a friend's console (in fact, I was helping him enslave some pesky wastelanders) and was rather saddened at how the unrefined graphics affected the whole atmosphere of the game. While playing F3 on PC I love standing on a hill and squinting off into the far distance... without trees and stuff popping into existence mere metres away. Not trying to start a war here (don't worry, I'm a console-owner as well), just saying that when a designer takes the time to optimise their game on a particular platform the results can be astonishing. As we can see here. You don't even need to spend thousands on a PC to get F3 looking this good; it looks good on just about anything. It looks jaw-droppingly stunning on my machine (Intel Core2 1.86, 2gb RAM, 8800GTS - not really a wallet-stretcher at all) with almost all of the settings way up high.

Like the guy said... maybe this wasn't the best game to try and show off the DX10 pretties. There's barely any difference on those shots at all. After all, it's a port: it's not like the devs have built a game from the ground up to take advantage of DX10's features. Let's just wait for the *real* DX10 games to see something really shiny :-)

Tis about time. Sure, it's no longer the shiniest diamond in the pile, but it's a diamond none the less. Much better than HL2 in my truly humble opinion.

BioShock, Mass Effect, Half-Life 2 Ep 2... yes. Halo 3... erm, no. *awaits thrown fruit* What about Crysis? Hellgate: London? Assassin's Creed?

You know, I don't know why so many people have problems with this game. I've got a 2.8 Duo Core, 1gb RAM and a GeForce 7600 GS, running at 1024x768 and the only thing I turned down was the shadows to medium. Everything else on full whack. Now my system isn't exactly the highest spec around here and yet the game ran like a dream. No slow down. But then again, I know people with practically identical systems having shockingly differing performances with NWN2. 'Tis odd. I'm guessing the game eats processors for breakfast, seems to be the issue here rather than fancy graphics cards.
