@HAMMERCLAW actually, now that i think about it i played since before halo 2 came out....it's been so long i didn't realize the 360 was release in 05. anyways, I've had my xbox live account for 9 years, so i guess it's actually been since 03-04ish...that's still really long. I personally miss the original Xbox Live experience.
@abHS4L88 Nintendo invented (or purchased the rights to) the rumble feature and the analog sticks. Sony merely copied their designs and implemented them into the Dualshock. They were sued by Nintendo and that's why the Sixaxis didn't have rumble (because of royalties I believe).
Anyway, Nintendo is always a bit behind the curve, but they sell their hardware for profit and don't rely as much on software sales to gain $ like MS and Sony, who sell higher-quality but much more expensive hardwares.
@craigprime Also, tablets are becoming extremely popular and commonplace in society, so it only makes sense for Nintendo to implement these characteristics into their gaming experience.
It's a bit different from the motion control Wii experience where Nintendo completely changed the idea, but I am still looking forward to playing the Wii U Gamepad.
@Fossil- I love the hypocritical responses of each major console company. MS complains about the Wii U focusing on 360 ports, but then Nintendo complains that MS is making Smart Glass or whatever like the Wii U. It's all about emulation of successful competition.
@JasPlun We all know what happened to SEGA. They're still trying to release another successful Sonic, to no avail, and haven't done anything moderately successful since the Dreamcast.
@moviequest14 I was so pissed when they only focused on Luigi's Mansion. I would like a Metroid game or something to make use of the bigger hardware. it needs more software :(
@craigprime The entire point of the Wii U is that it embraces the simplicity and personalization/intimacy of a tablet, so it does resemble a tablet with buttons and analog sticks. It's a hybrid
@Flint247 Just make more Yoshi games or something. They seem simple and keep me occupied for hours. Completely re-release the SNES first-party lineup (DK Mario Wario etc)
