Thief and System Shock 2 are still my favorite games. I'm always interested to hear what the Looking Glass Studios folks are up to. I'll be looking forward to this one!
Haha well said. These games have never been for me, that 'laundry list' of objectives that has become the ubisoft formula makes me want to spit up blood.
The best open world games I've played recently are Dark Souls / Bloodborne, Grand Theft Auto V and Metal Gear Sold V. The Witcher III is ok, it's a very interesting world but I just don't find the gameplay fun at all. The combat and movement mechanics are horrible.
I'm very hard on open world games, but I really love the ones that stand out.
I had to create a steam account when I first bought Half Life 2, but then never logged in again for the next decade and forgot the details. I contacted Valve to see if I could tie the game to my current account somehow but never got a reply. I thought they'd at least respond.
Their big problem was online only and game design focused on in-game purchases, that's what they should have addressed in this panel before going on to repeat how incredible their game was.
