I just got my XL today actually and I freakin love it. I'll think about upgrading to a 3DS when some games I really wanna play are available. But for now I have plenty on the DS to catch up with haha.

I finally have my copy of soulsilver and I'm more than excited to start it. So in spirit of picking my starter pokemon this afternoon, I wanted to see who was everyone's favorite starter pokemon, not just in soulsilver, but throughout every generation.

I loved squirtle as my original series starter, and I think I'm gonna go with totodile for soulsilver but I know I'm gonna end up debating when it's time to choose haha.

Personally, I was kind of dissapointed in the launch titles myself as well. For me there's nothing that draws my attention enough to get over the high price tag for it. I usually don't get systems at launch anyway so I have no problem waiting a while until the price lowers and there are more games that I'm interested in playing.

I knew someone would bring up the gamecube and the DS touch screen and I'm glad you did. You're clearly right there was no major release for either of those consoles and they've both been very successful. I still feel as if the 3DS has much more to offer than both of those systems ever did though. Gamecube was pretty much just a more powerful N64, the DS is a pretty impressive machine as well offering great graphics and touch screen play. But don't you think that the 3DS is offering much more than either of these systems. It's really the first gaming system to offer 3d gaming to consumers. That's pretty impressive in my opinion even if it is handheld. I just feel as if the 3DS could have greatly benefited from a game that really showed off and flexed some 3D muscle, that's all I'm really saying. Even Kid Icarus would be a strong marketing agent if they could have had it ready on release.

This is just my personal taste people. I'm not saying that the 3DS is gonna be dissapointing at all. Personally, I'm just not very interested in the games that have been announced so far.

I can't say that I'm even remotely excited about playing a single game that has been announced for the 3DS. Correct me if I'm out of place here, but the 3DS is boasting some pretty ground breaking technology. Don't you think it deserves a ground breaking game to go with it? When Nintendo entered the 3D platformer genre they blew us all with Mario 64. I know a lot of people won't like this but even the Wii came packaged with Wii sports which as lame as it is at least captivated us with motion sensing gaming. Mario 64 was amazing and I suppose I can't ask for a game like that with every new system but right now the most appealing game for the 3DS is Ocarina of Time in 3D. Which I technically already have sitting in my living! I understand that there are many games in development right now but as of right now I think I'll be holding off on the 3DS until there are games that make this expensive handheld worth buying.

Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda game I played since I grew up with the N64, so I naturally lean towards that as my favorite. I keep coming back to it too I just can't help it. I really enjoyed Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess as well. I loved the darker feel to those games. LTTP was fantastic as well. I have yet to finish Link's Awakening and I haven't played Wind Waker or any of the new DS games.

But I just have to go with OoT as my favorite. It just has so much more of an epic feeling to me than the other games.

[QUOTE="unrealtron"]

try monster hunter tri or golden eye of donkey kong country returns

ct1257860

Thanks i think ill try dk since alot of pple are mention it and maybe monster hunter.

I would definitely give Monster Hunter Tri a shot. It takes a while to get into but once you do it's hard to pull away from. The online play is just crazy fun.

Sorry to hear you didn't like any of the other titles that came out for the Wii this year. It certainly was a big year for it so they'll be hard pressed to live up to it. But Skyword Sword is coming out soon ish so I have a hard time saying the Wii is dying out.

Also to each their own man. Some of the earlier comments on this post are exactly why I don't like forums and I'm sure I'll up set some people with that. But the bottom line is that not every one likes the same thing. That's why there are three very successful consoles out right now with plenty of games to choose from. I hope ya find something to quench your wii appetite soon

Super Mario Brothers 3 with orchestra music
Zelda Ocarina also with orchestra music it would be...EPIC!

JopaGeri

Zelda with orchestral music would be amazing!!! I understand the ****c nostalgic feel of the music and effects in the more recent zelda games. But an orchestral score would just be beyond epic!
