The virtual console will make or break my decision to buy a wii.. I'm putting away money for the ps3 already, (it's basicaly got everything plus the kitchen sink in it including by far the largest capacity disc medium). Hell with the 360 aka the oblivion-halo box

I agree that games can be too realistic not because they can be disturbing (the hevey rain demo didn't really freak me out) but because a lot of the fun in video games comes from escaping our mundane world. Realism is nice but if thats all we're focused on that truly whimsical and refreshing games such as katamari and psychonauts would not be possible. I am not saying that realsim is a bad thing but we should not let that alone determine video game greatness.
