Arcade sticks are generally preferred. Exclusive characters in fighting games are hated by the competitive community and no-one plays them. Xbox live is generally considered a better experience for online play in fighters and is considered to have a higher standard of play. Tournaments are only played on PS3 due to the ease of syncing controllers quickly. Wireless PS3 stock pads and wireless joysticks are banned at Evo btw. Add to the above that fighters perform better on 360, PS3 SSFIV for example has noticeable slowdown (same with MK9) and it's been proven to have an extra frame or two of input lag than the 360 version.

Input lag is through the roof, matchmaking is hopeless (90% of the time I get matched with people on the other side of the globe) and I can reproduce getting the game to disconnect purely by hitting several buttons in quick succession. If this doesn't improve the game is going to die a death.

[QUOTE="thecapsaicinkid"][QUOTE="Brownesque"]riotous for consumer rights in this case.Brownesque

What about the rights for the consumer who wants a secure platform with minimal online cheating and lots of 3rd party content, what about the rights of developers who want to get paid for their work? Rights can conflict y'know.

There is no such thing as a platform that can be secured by one organization, proof positive is Geohotz.

However, if you're looking for a platform that is secure, stable, and well moderated, check out the PC, where we have admins, permbans, room passwords.....we own the servers, we own the content, we delegate bandwidth and give out the invites.

And speaking of third party content.

http://www.moddb.com/

Where's that on Xbox?

And for another example, Linux is more stable and more secure than MacOSX or Windows, in spite of being completely open source. Literally, each distro is personally tinkered with by some schmoes in their mother's basement somewhere, and yet the platform is more secure than the multi billion dollar megalopolis Windows. And it's also worth noting there are dozens of distributions of Linux....

Why on earth are you telling me about mods and Linux.

p.s All my machines are Linux.

Psn games have already been hacked, i haven't seen a single 3rd party dev leave yet and devs get paid while producing the game(excluding any bonuses). Am i missing something here?

You have such an optimistic view. Let's wait and see shall we?

[QUOTE="thecapsaicinkid"]

So tell me why it's preferable for a gamer (we are all gamers here right?) to own a compromised system?

MFDOOM1983

Every gaming device i own is comprised now....

Is this a good thing, do you run homebrew on any of them, do you pirate games?
