[QUOTE="superfive9"]

[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"] The Warren court broadened that to include state, local, and federal gov'ts. Case in point, a school sponsored event such as a graduation cannot have prayer because it's sponsored by the local gov't since it funds the school district. DroidPhysX

Our pledge of alleigance has "Under God" that is recited at schools, yet the Supreme Court has not ruled this unconstitutuonal, and a student can't say a prayer?

You're not forced to recite the pledge. And a student can say a prayer in school as long as it's not disruptive.

I agree on that

[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"] Can you explain? I don't quite get what you're saying.DroidPhysX

The establishment clause says congress "shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion", I don't understand how that relates to a student saying prayer at a school ceremony.

[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"] School sponsored event and therefore it violates the establishment clause. DroidPhysX

Who established a church?

I don't see a violation of "separation between church and state" here, a student doesn't represent the school or government.

We got to start cutting big spending, and when I say big spending I'm talking about medicare, military etc.. It's good to see some start

DroidPhysX

You do know cutting spending won't end the deficit.

Of course, that's why I support ending Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, and cut spending along with other things
