Mmm...I wanted the World Tour drums until I heard about the cymbals. Now they're out of the running again. I'll have to break down and purchase both games' guitars, though. I really DO love the heft that Strat carries, but I want the functionality of the GHWT slide strip and music creation.
To everyone complaining that they are "adjusting the settings on their TV" should probably know that they are not capturing this images through the TV at all. They are taking the images, pixel for pixel, through the computer using capture equipment. Thus, there are no TV brightness settings, no monitor brightness settings, no contrast, no nothing. They are taking EXACTLY what the console puts out and redisplaying the images here. There is no foul play. Try actually reading the article before swinging wild accusations around.
SavoyPrime Orange Box shouldn't have even been thrown into this comparison since it is known that the PS3 version was a half-***ed port. Barely any effort was put into make sure it was a clean conversion that was at least equal to the experience on the 360. Come on GS, you all know better than this. *shakes head in disgust* First, you DO realize that the overarching message was simply that, aside from 2 exceptions, they all pretty much look the same, right? Secondly, suggesting they omit games that have known flaws in a few aspects of a version of the game is, in fact, biased. Saying "let's not compare games that have a disadvantage one way or the other because it might be unfair" means that they are artificially homogenizing the outcome of the article, and thus preemptively eliminating neutrality altogether. The reason that games like Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and The Orange Box were compared is because, like every other game on this list, they are extremely popular titles for both consoles. These were all picked because they are outstanding examples in key gaming genres of overall high-quality games. They were not hand-picked to single out the PlayStation 3 as a the bad guy. Remember: About all this amounted to was "the differences are negligible." Get over yourselves, people.
After three rounds of comparisons, I'm convinced that Sony was more or less lying through their teeth when they told me that they had the superior hardware on their RSX. I was seeing pictures of light penetrating skin, and Doctor Octopus monologuing his way to the top. Up until now, I believed they had some kind of catching-up to do, and I'm just not seeing it. It should BE here by now. Switch to beer indeed, Sony. I'll take it over your convenience store wine. Shame on you for hyping your Blu-Ray gaming console as a battleship. You're lagging behind the fleet.
