Needs to be posted in System Wars :P

MlauTheDaft

I wasn't trying to start something, I'm just sharing a fact I found interesting with fellow pc gamers. I have nothing against xbox and ps3 and I also tend to stay away from the sytem wars forums.

Fun fact, only medium was unlocked for the beta, not high or ultra.Inconsistancy

I'm hearing this a lot. Is there any actual proof that this is true? Not calling you a liar, I just would like to know where people got this from.

I'm looking on newegg for a GTX 580 and I was wondering if it would be wise to buy the cheaper brands of it. Are they cheaper for a reason? The brand Elitegroup has a 580 for $400 after a rebate. And the brand Galaxy has one for $415 after rebate as well. I mean I've never heard of Elitegroup or Galaxy, but maybe thats just me. I'm also wary because there are no reviews for the Elitegroup on newegg.

I've seen reviews for the 6870x2 and they say that its better than a GTX 580. You guys say I'll most likely have problems with a 6870x2? Why do people have more trouble with dual core cards rather than crossfire or sli? I figured they would use the same drivers and things right?

I recently discovered the PowerColor HD 6870x2 on newegg for $500 which is around the same price as a GTX 580. My question is which do you think would run Battlefield 3 better? For those of you that don't know what the 6870x2 is, it is basically two 6870 cores on one card.

*edit* Oh and I am looking at the 6870x2 because I only have one pci express slot on my motherboard.

[QUOTE="Cwagmire21"]

I'm finding the beta pretty disappointing to be honest. Played Metro and was spawn camped like crazy. Adding in prone was a big mistake IMO.

JigglyWiggly_

I hope you're kidding. BC2 sucked without prone. It's like hey I am being fired at. Let me prone behind dis rock. O wait I have prone disease.

I absolutely agree that BC2 sucked without prone. In BC2 it was like when you're getting fired at you don't even look for cover. All you could do was run and hope they miss. It was a little like Counter Strike imo.

Now in BF3 I notice every little thing as cover now. Its pretty exhilarating when you and your buddy are pinned down behind a foot high wall trying to figure out where the shots are coming from.

I also believe the lens flare is an excellent addition to the game. Now people can't complain that snipers are invisable. But then you have the people that complain that they hate they lens flare. I think its better than BC2 sniping where you could clearly be seen on a hill because all you could do is crouch.

Is it just me or does Deus Ex Human Revolution make anyone else dizzy? Everything seems like its zoomed in. I assume the depth of field setting is the same as field of view so I set it to high. Anyone know of a way to set the fov higher or something?

I seem to be having problems with random lagin tf2 as of yesterday.

Gameplay stutters, other players appear to lag from point to point at random etc.

I have tried everything video card wise. From the highest of the highest settings to lowest of low. I thought it might be my network connection but now borderlands is lagging on me too.

WHY CANT I WIN :(

EdenProxy

I had a similar problem and I fixed it by turning off all programs that ran in the background, especially my anti virus because it kept wanting to do scans when I was playing TF2. You might not have to turn your anti virus off completely, but just make sure it isn't doing scans when you're playing. Also, open your processes window and check to see if any useless things are running. Always try to join servers that have a ping below 100.

My friend had a lagging problem with TF2 too and he fixed it by turning off the multi core setting even though he has a quad.

Try and know the role of each class and work to help the team and not yourself. People notice a good team more than a good player.

As others have said, heavy and medic are the easiest. Spy is probably the hardest to play. Don't worry though because the more you play the more you learn.
