@gamerno66666 FPS will be available either on ships (ship boarding) or on designated planet areas where FPS is available.

As for landing on planets, yes you can but there'll only be "hubs" available to visit on any given planets, there won't be free exploration until way later, and that's in the persistent universe.

@scottpsfan14 @Cloud_imperium The full planet exploration deal is planned, not coming in the first iteration of the game but it's planned for future updates. One of the past stretch goals was dedicated to using a portion of the money to fund R&D for procedural generation that will look particularly fresh and interesting. Something that doesn't look like your run of the mil procedurally generated stuff.

So don't hold your breath, but it is coming eventually.

@solarrainuk I don't expect a huge delay, though I do expect a bit of a delay. The thing is, in game development, there is a LOT of unpredictability. So giving a deadline is in no way an exact science. However when you have such a huge team, a flexible budget and are constantly hiring new employees/freelancers, it is easier to contain whatever issues that come up and reduce an otherwise critical delay to a minor one.

As to the demoed DFM, I have to disagree with you. I was thoroughly impressed. Short of technical difficulties, if you actually counted the missing bits for a smooth looking alpha, there was a few of them; a few effects here and there and a few tweaks. Now, the damage states, the flying mechanics, the netcode, the backend structure, and all the big stuff are already taken care of.

@mkeezay22 @silvervolpe @shingui5 @garyhove Hmm you and me both. They seem to be having a bit of a nap whilst AMD is catching up, so I am expecting them to have something good up their sleeves.

@mkeezay22 @silvervolpe @shingui5 @garyhove Definitely. I am saving my money for a big GPU upgrade, specifically for SC, might even bump my CPU.

@shingui5 @mkeezay22@garyhoveYou should probably add to your calculations that SC isn't a mainstream game. It is developed with the high-end PC crowd in mind. You might get away with a high-mid-end rig, but you won't have the intended experience. In short, the devs are developing the game without any limitations and the backers are forewarned of that.

So yeah.. no, the consoles have very little chance to run these things. They may still be able to, with heavy tweaking, but even then, the minimum requirements are quite harsh.

@garyhove It was never the money, it's the hardware limitations of consoles. That plus the rigidness and restrictions that both Sony and Microsoft enforce on their game developers.

@gamerno66666 I strongly disagree, but whatever floats your boat.

@blackace Werewolves or vampires. These two are ripe for the picking.
