I am playing Crysis on an 4 year old CPU (AMD 64 3700+ single core, no overclocking) with a Gigabyte 8800GT at max settings including AA and obtaining an average frames per sec (FPS) of 30 to 35 on a 17 in. CRT Monitor (LG Flatron ) at 1024 X 768 at highest colour quality 32 bit, with 2 Gig of RAM and a Raptor 10,00RPM hard drive (XP platform). My computer is optimised for gaming (no antivirus, firewall etc). A the human eyes find it hard to notice lag at greater than 30 FPS, I have saved myself a bundle and can enjoy Crysis for the price of the 8800GT. Drop the resolution by using a CRT monitor and enjoy the savings and Crysis. I will upgrade my CPU when it is really required.

I have an AMD 64 3700 single core with 2 GB of Corsair system memory a Raptor hard drive a Geforce 7950GT with 512 MB of DDR3 video memory, Windows XP Professional. Crysis runs fine with occassional lag. Shadows set to low and everything else turned to max settings. I use a 17 inch CRT monitor at a resolution of 1024 x 768. My lowest FPS using Fraps in an intense battle is 15 FPS. My computer is optimised for Gaming with no antivirus, firwall etc. The graphics and gameplay are great and a Computer upgrade is not necessary. I use another older computer for Internet and Email. What about a review of a single core processor with a 7950GT or better. I do not believe in upgrading for the sake of upgrading.
