@JuneauEU I think you can agree that "those that make games for the fun & passion of gaming want more people to play their games", ARE NOT the people who make the decisions about what platforms the game will be released.. The gaming industry has the most passionate people working for it - That doesn't mean the office executives are as passionate about including 64 player online for PC - As an example.. So the only reason for multi-platform is MONEY MAKING.. That is all.. As for cars not being a form of entertainment, and comparing them to games - Tell me why there are TVs in the seats, MP3, voice commands, high horsepower, GPS, etc etc.. Those are all things that LURE the consumer to buy those cars.. Nobody decides to buy a car BECAUSE it has voice command.. It's a toy, and ultimately, useless.. @Rocker6 I know what you mean - Going back to play older games.. The Splinter Cell franchise is still something I will stick in and play.. It never get's old, no matter how often I play it.. Even impressive games like Red Dead Redemption, which I LOVED - STILL does not have the replayability, to me.. At least when compared to truly perfect games like Chaos Theory..

I don't agree with this article.. It's very clear that PC gaming is losing steam, year after year.. It it wasn't why would developers feel the need to put their games out on console in the first place? Like DICE.. I'm all for multi-platform releases, but trying to make excuses by saying "we want to appeal to console players, too", is just BS.. They don't specifically WANT to - They HAVE to, because that's where the majority of gamers are.. I will be clear, the only reason they HAVE to, is because of how much money it will bring in.. Developers nowadays care more about their profit margins than the game content.. In closing, my view on the entire gaming industry is not a good one.. Like cars - They were once a work of art, fun to drive, different from one another, impressive in all ways - Now are just cookie cutter machines that are really not that different.. I'm afraid games are going this route.. With the dozens of games that are released every year - How many are actually worth playing? 5-10? You can bet this number will reduce over time, until ALL games are just generic, boring, thinly fleshed out games.. Contrasted only by the art styles, technology and time put into the ones from the past until now..
