Adam 12 Most TV shows they air currently suck, the only ones I really like are Breaking Bad, Southland (although it's annoying that I have to buy DVD's of that off ebay since they don't show it in New Zealand), South Park and Mad Men. Sons of Anarchy isn't bad either but it does get a little dull.

What are some songs you like but are always quite ashamed to admit you like? For me it's not songs but several artists, mainly The Jam and Dolly Parton, people get quite confused (and often laugh at me) when they look through my iPod and in the midst of all the various forms of metal they find Dolly Parton.

All of them.

This culture of celebrity worship is disgusting. I can't even get away from it, when I'm reading about current events, I want to be notified of events which have an impact on me or the environment around me. Like the fact that there is no post service because they're on strike. Not some stupid drug addicted celebrity who "IS PREGENANT AGAIN, BUT WHO IS THE FATHER!?!?!?!?!?!!?".

It's disgusting, it seem as if people in hollywood are portrayed as gods or something; people are encouraged to be like them, live like they do, wear the brands that they do, wear what they do, even act like they do.

****.

Completly agree. Society needs to focus on more pressing matters, not when Linsey Lohan is going to go to jail again.

A harder question to awnser is when will she next be OUT of jail.

Death Metal really is an acquired taste, I for one love it, but and as for the vocals, if you've listened to enough fo the stuff you find it really easy to understand, even stuff you haven't heard before, or maybe that's just me.samremnant

My biggest gripe with death metal is not so much the vocals, the lack of creativity of a lot of bands. I used to be into Cannibal Corpse (as a kid pretty much) and similar bands, until I realised they all sounded the same. The often cheesey lyrical themes also put me off. It seems that in most cases it's either about gore or pseudo-intellectual political crap (I'm looking at you, Napalm Death). Of course this doesn't apply to every band out there, but whenever someone recommends me a death metal band, it ends in disappointment.

I must say, though, that Darkthrone's Soulside Journey album is a very good death metal record.

Death metal bands like Cannibal Corpse are realitively simplistic, and thats not meant to be negative. They play straight forward, no frills death metal. But there are plenty of death metal bands which have at least mixed things up and introduced a new sound to the genre.

Indeed so, have you ever heard of the band Death? They're absolutely fantastic early death metal, it's quite drifferent to newer stuff, there's a lot more variation between songs than there is in a lot of death metal.

Testament

Machine Head

Metallica

Megadeth

Slayer

Sepultura (The Max years only)

Soulfly

Anthrax

Pantera

Fear Factory

Those are the metal bands I primarily listen to. I've been trying ot branch out into some other stuff, but I always go back to these guys.

I love melodic/thrash metal.

Can't really get into Death Metal because I don't like growling/banshee/wailing vocals. They annoy me.

Bathory are absolutely amazing! Nordland, Vinterblot, One Rode to Asa Bay and Necromansy are some of the best songs I've ever heard in my life.
