Handhelds are dying (thanks to smartphones), then some companies are trying to combine home consoles and phones. I don't see a reason to handhelds survive in next generation: the system/games are hella expensive, the battery life is terrible and there's not a huge matter of innovation apart from phones...

@Dreizel Don't worry bro, I'm not offended in any way by these statements... and I know that there's some players who aren't graphical fanboys at all, and I didn't mean to classify you as one of these. There are some pretty decent FPS games out there, and I really enjoy a good amount of them - but they're not the only kind of games in my library. That's how the most part of people act, they just divide gaming in two main categories: "cool, mature, and violent HD graphical games" and "colorful childish games in SD". I have a lot of friends like that. Unfortunately, that's what the market throws on us, because it sells like hell.

I have faith in all companies for the next gen, but I really wish they bring us the gaming spirit that died back in 90's instead another ultra-powerful tech specs war...

I don't give a * about friend codes and player interaction. I really want to see what this console has to offer in a matter of GAMING. That gadget will simply become obsolete after a year or two like always... Nintendo failed hard by restricting the Wii 3rd party game library, I hope they've learned something this time.

@Dreizel The question is... what do you seek in a console? Graphical power? Games? Fun?All depends on your gaming profile and what the console has to offer. Being a graphical fanboy at any cost will certainly limit your gaming expriences for the next generation. The Wii, for example, wasn't a bad console. It has quite an unique game library - but isn't for those labeled "hardcore gamers", who only enjoy "bam bam boom" brainless FPS action.

I think you really should wait a year or two to check what the other companies have to offer, while the Wii U price drops... just don't grow attached to the technological power idea, it may not be a good choice at all. You may end up with like that old "PS3 has no games" meme.

I skip the whole "friendship" part of the Wii U. Hate me, but I really enjoy the *forever alone* single-player experience way more than co-op or competition games. In Online MMORPG's, I avoid making new friends simply because I find very, very annoying to have people asking stuff or stalking me while I'm logged in. I turn chats off when I'm concentrated achieving something, and I just logoff when buddies get boring. Don't get me wrong. I love internet chats and stuff, but I rarely enjoy this kind of thing mixed with a game.Yes, NSMB Wii was a complete chaos with 4 player on screen. But don't take it too serious. You probably won't get even close from beating the game this way. And if you really want to avoid messing things up, just create a new save file to play exclusively with friends. This way, you won't lost precious lives or rare items from power up box, taking you away from frustration.

Fitness games? No, thank you. We need GOOD Kinect games, otherwise it will sink faster than you can spell "fitness".

Piracy should win this time. If we can't buy secondhand games, then we'll really need a way to bypass this thing, and I TOTALLY support it in this case. It's abusing to force a customer to get a brand new product everytime he wants to play a new game, or even experience it. How about lending games to friends? I won't be able to do so anymore? What if I have multiple systems? That means 1 game media per system? Okay, PC softwares work this way, but it's a totally different point here. In case of an expensive software, like Photoshop for example, the license is required mostly because the product offers a professional platform, and you actucally can get lots of money doing Photoshop works. You're paying to have profit, that's pretty fair. But what about games? They're basically virtual toys with no other purpose than entertaining...That's the dumbest idea I've heard so far from game industry.
